Short version: we collect the details you give us so we can connect you with independent local home-service pros. We share your request with the pros we match you with, and they may pay us for that introduction. You can opt out of calls and texts at any time.
Who we are
Gulf Coast Repair Men ("we," "us," "our") is based in League City, Texas, and operates GulfCoastRepairMen.com (the "Site"). We run a referral service, free for homeowners, that connects homeowners with independent home-service providers ("Providers"). We do not perform home repairs; any repair work is priced by and paid directly to the Provider you choose.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, phone number and (optionally) email address.
- Project details: ZIP code, type of service, how soon you need help, your description of the problem, and whether you own the home.
- Consent record: whether you checked the consent box, the exact consent wording shown to you, and the date, time and page where you submitted it.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical information such as your browser type (user agent), the page URL, and the date and time of your request. Our hosting and form providers may also log your IP address for security and to prevent spam.
- We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy.
How we use your information
- To review your request and match you with Providers who serve your area and handle your type of job.
- To contact you (and allow matched Providers to contact you) about your request by phone call, text message or email, as described in the consent you gave.
- To keep records of your consent and communications preferences, including opt-outs.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site, prevent fraud and spam, and comply with the law.
How we share your information
- With matched Providers. We share your request with up to 3 independent Providers we match you with. Providers may pay us a fee for each request they receive. Because we receive payment, this sharing may be considered a "sale" of personal data under some privacy laws. Once a Provider receives your information, their own privacy practices apply. They are independent businesses, not our agents.
- With service providers who help us run the Site, such as website hosting, form processing, email and text-messaging tools. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons, such as to comply with a subpoena or law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate fraud.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
We do not sell or share your information with unrelated third-party marketers for their own advertising.
Calls and text messages
If you check the consent box, Gulf Coast Repair Men and up to 3 matched Providers may call or text you at the number you provided about your request, including with automated technology or prerecorded messages. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.
- To stop texts, reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help.
- To stop calls, tell the caller you no longer want to be contacted, or email us at Marc@txcontractorsolutions.com.
- Because Providers are independent, you may need to opt out with each Provider that contacted you. We will also pass your opt-out request along to the Providers we shared your request with.
We do not share mobile numbers or text-messaging opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Contractors who apply to receive leads
If you apply on our For Contractors page, we collect the business and contact details you provide (such as business name, contact name, phone, email, trades, service area, license number, insurance status and lead preferences), plus a record of the consent box you checked. We use this to review your application, contact you about it by phone, text or email, and, if we work together, to send you leads and handle billing. We don't sell applicant information. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of texts.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sharing it with Providers for future requests, by emailing Marc@txcontractorsolutions.com. Depending on where you live, including under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act where it applies, you may have additional rights, such as to opt out of the "sale" of personal data or to appeal our decision on your request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Deleting information from our records does not delete copies already provided to Providers. Please contact them directly as well.
How long we keep information
We keep request information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service and for our legitimate business purposes. We keep consent and opt-out records for longer, as needed to show compliance with telemarketing and consumer-protection laws.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Site is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Links to other sites
The Site may link to other websites, such as state licensing agencies. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed. Material changes will be posted on this page.
